Greg Lair - English Ministry Pastor - NLCC - Fayetteville
About our Pastor:
Pastor R. Gregory Lair grew up the son of an Army Chaplain and United Methodist minister. He spent most of his childhood moving throughout western North Carolina. Upon completing high school, he attended Appalachian State University where he pursued and received a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education. He played football while in attendance there and was a member of the Southern Conference championship team in 1991. In 1995 he received his call to ministry while attending Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC and was ordained to ministry there as well. He received his seminary education at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC where he completed his Master of Theological Studies. While in mentored ministry, he worked as a youth pastor at the Korean First Presbyterian Church of Charlotte. It was there that he came to define his ministry focus- reconciling man to God and man to man. Pastor Lair’s ministry focus passage is Luke 10:25-37 “who is your neighbor?” His life verse is Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Pastor Lair is married to the former Michelle Simpson, his high school sweetheart. They have two sons- Andrew and Luke.
